Reglas y regulaciones de FIDBA 2022

1- Condiciones generales

El 9 ° Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Buenos Aires se realizará en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina del 6 al 19 de spetiembre de 2022.

1.2- Elegibilidad

La inscripción a FIDBA #9 se realiza a través de nuestras plataformas exclusivas de filmfreeway.com y festhome.com

Las inscripciones están abiertas a largometrajes documentales y cortometrajes argentinos y extranjeros. Todas las producciones deben haberse completado después del 1 de enero de 2019.

1.3- Secciones
El programa del Festival incluirá secciones de competición. Los solicitantes elegirán la sección apropiada para la película, pero esta se puede cambiar si el Comité de Selección lo considera necesario.

1.4- Entrada

Las presentaciones deben realizarse solo a través de plataformas digitales autorizadas. Una vez cumplimentado el formulario de inscripción, se considerará legalmente como declaración jurada y testimonio del conocimiento y aceptación del productor de las presentes Bases.

1.5- Participación

La participación en el Festival implica la aceptación de las presentes Bases.
Una vez enviada y seleccionada, una película no se puede eliminar del cartel del Festival.
Todas las personas relacionadas con las películas seleccionadas se comprometen a no hacer pública su participación hasta que FIDBA anuncie el cartel.

2- Competiciones

a) Concurso internacional de largometrajes documentales
Para películas nacionales e internacionales de más de 40 minutos de duración.

b) Concurso Internacional de Cortometrajes Documentales
Películas internacionales de no más de 40 minutos de duración.

c) Concurso Nacional de Cortometrajes Documentales
Para películas argentinas de no más de 40 minutos de duración.

d) Competencia de Largometraje Documental Latinoamericano
Para documentales de Cine Latinoamericano de más de 40 minutos de duración.

e) Concurso Internacional de Largometrajes Documentales “Nuevos realizadores”
Para películas nacionales e internacionales de más de 40 minutos. Solo para cineastas que presenten su primera o segunda película de no ficción.

f) Concurso Internacional Nuevas Narrativas (cine experimental)
Para películas experimentales de cualquier nacionalidad y duración.

g) Concurso de Largometraje Documental Argentino:
Solo para largometrajes documentales argentinos.

h) Concurso de Panorama Temático (Música, Deportes, Arquitectura, Cine)
Para documentales nacionales e internacionales que aborden cualquiera de las siguientes temáticas: Música, Deportes, Arquitectura, Cine. (más de 40 minutos)

i) Concurso Internacional de Largometrajes de Ficción “Ficciones de lo real”
Para largometrajes de ficción que tengan una búsqueda narrativa o temática que los empareje con el documental. Películas nacionales e internacionales (más de 40 minutos).

j) Concurso Internacional de Largometrajes “LATERAL” (Documentales LGTBQI)
Para documentales nacionales e internacionales que abordan la temática LGTBQI. (más de 40 minutos)

k) Documentos de competencia internacional VR
Para documentales de realidad virtual y contenido inmersivo. (Para obras de cualquier duración)

l) Concurso Internacional de Documentales sobre Derechos Humanos
Para documentales sobre derechos humanos (medio ambiente, migraciones, política, etc). Se aceptarán películas de todo el mundo. (más de 40 minutos)

m) Concurso Internacional de Documentales relacionados con la infancia y la adolescencia
Para películas de no ficción relacionadas con la infancia y la juventud. Se aceptan películas de cualquier país y metraje.

*** Los documentales argentinos serán inscritos en la categoría PELÍCULAS ARGENTINAS, independientemente de su tema o metraje.

*** El Comité de Selección se reserva el derecho de programar una película en un concurso diferente al que fue inscrito.

3- Premios

Todos los años, FIDBA propondrá diferentes premios, dependiendo del concurso, el premio siempre será para el primer lugar. Y el jurado puede agregar dos menciones. De hecho, hay otros precios disponibles, como SIGNIS WORLD, ASOCIACIÓN ARGENTINA DE DOCUMENTALES, ASOCIACIÓN ARGENTINA DE DOP, ASOCIACIÓN ARGENTINA DE INGENIEROS DE SONIDO, ASOCIACIÓN ARGENTINA DE EDITORES.
Todos los premios están expresados ​​en moneda argentina. El Jurado podrá proponer hasta dos menciones especiales por categoría.

3.2- Mención de participación
Los productores y distribuidores de películas participantes en los Concursos deberán incluir la frase “Selección Oficial Internacional” / “Selección Oficial Internacional”, en toda su publicidad cinematográfica y material de prensa, utilizando el logo del Festival. Este compromiso se aplica tanto a los lanzamientos de cine como a los lanzamientos de DVD y Blu-ray.

4- Presentación de información y materiales necesarios para el proceso de selección

4.1- Materiales necesarios

Formulario de inscripción completo en la plataforma, un enlace a la película para su visualización en línea (como Vimeo, youtube, etc.).
Las películas deben tener subtítulos en español o inglés si no se habla español.
Complete todos los espacios en el formulario de inscripción.
No olvide indicar si el trabajo es un corte final, un corte preliminar o un trabajo en proceso.

Si la película es seleccionada para integrar el festival de cine, el responsable de la película DEBE SUMINISTRAR SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL en formato SRT e INGLÉS SRT, lista de diálogo en la fecha que el festival indique.

4.2- Plazos de envío y tarifas de inscripción; Largometrajes internacionales y películas experimentales de cualquier duración. Las tarifas de envío de películas se establecen en diferentes momentos en la plataforma. El comité de selección no tiene la obligación de ver las películas enviadas después de la fecha límite.

La presentación de películas argentinas es gratuita.

5- Películas seleccionadas

5.1- Catálogo
Con el fin de emitir un catálogo exacto, el Festival requiere, para cada película seleccionada, un formulario de inscripción debidamente cumplimentado, y los siguientes materiales: sinopsis de la película, biografía y filmografía del director, un fotograma de la película y los créditos artísticos y técnicos completos. Los materiales requeridos serán entregados a la mayor brevedad posible una vez aceptada la invitación a participar en el Festival y antes de la fecha límite, la cual será debidamente notificada. Las decisiones editoriales quedan enteramente a discreción del Festival.

5.2- Extractos con fines promocionales
El Festival podrá utilizar extractos de películas nacionales o extranjeras – con una duración máxima de 3 minutos – con fines promocionales (los extractos de cortometrajes utilizados de manera promocional no superarán el 10% de su tiempo total de ejecución).
Si un productor no envía los extractos de película requeridos, el Festival puede copiar uno o más fragmentos de la película para uso promocional durante el Festival.
Para la promoción del cartel del Festival y de cada una de las películas seleccionadas, el Festival podrá cargar fotografías digitales de películas y clips de películas (de un máximo de 3 minutos) en el sitio web del Festival.

5.3- Videoteca

Las películas seleccionadas estarán disponibles en la Videoteca en línea del Festival durante un período de tiempo predeterminado. La videoteca solo es accesible para miembros de prensa e invitados acreditados por el Festival. Al ingresar al Festival, los titulares de los derechos dan permiso para que sus películas se incluyan en la videoteca, a menos que se indique lo contrario en su formulario de inscripción.
A estos efectos, los productores de las películas del cartel del Festival proporcionarán copias adicionales en el formato que se especifique debidamente.

5.4- Horario de cribado
La programación de la película y los días y horarios de proyección son decididos por los Organizadores del Festival.

5.5- Formato de cribado
Los formatos de proyección del festival son:
DCP solo transferencia digital
Archivo MOV, MP4 (Codec H.264).
Tasa de bits máxima: 12 mbps

La presentación de trabajos en otros formatos de video requiere la autorización del Festival.
Una vez comunicado a los organizadores del Festival el formato de proyección, no se podrá modificar.

5.6- Idioma y subtítulos en caso de selección
Las películas seleccionadas se proyectarán en su versión original.

Películas extranjeras:
Si la película es seleccionada para integrar el festival de cine, el responsable de la película DEBE SUMINISTRAR SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL en formato SRT e INGLÉS SRT, ambos en la fecha que el festival indique.
Las copias de proyección no deben tener subtítulos impresos.

Películas argentinas:
Se prefiere una copia de proyección subtitulada en inglés si está disponible. Si no hubiera disponible una copia subtitulada en inglés, el Festival puede solicitar una lista de las líneas del guión en inglés (con códigos de tiempo).

7- Acerca de estas reglas
La participación en el Festival implica la aceptación de las presentes Bases. En caso de cualquier conflicto (de organización u funcionamiento) no contemplado en este reglamento, será resuelto por los Organizadores del Festival.

FIDBA Rules and Regulations 2022

1- General Terms

The 9th International Documentary Film Festival of Buenos Aires will be held in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina from September 6 to 19, 2022.

REGISTRATION:

1.2- Eligibility

Submissions to FIDBA #9 is done through our exclusive platforms of  filmfreeway.com and festhome.com

Submissions are open to Argentine and foreign documentary feature and short length films, All productions must have been completed after January 1, 2019.

1.3- Sections
The program of the Festival will include competition sections. Submitters will choose the appropriate section for the film, but this can be changed if the Selection Committee finds it necessary.

1.4- Entry

Submissions should be done only through authorized digital platforms. Once the entry form is completed, it will be legally considered as a sworn statement and as a testimony of the producer’s knowledge and acceptance of the present Rules.

1.5- Participation

Participation in the Festival entails the acceptance of the present Rules.
Once submitted and selected, a film cannot be removed from the Festival lineup.
All people related to the selected films agree not to make public their participation until the lineup is announced by FIDBA.

2- Competitions

a) International Documentary Feature Films competition
For national and international films over 40 minutes length.

b) International Documentary Short Films Competition
International films no Longer than 40 minutes length.

c) National Documentary Short Films Competition
For Argentine films no Longer than 40 minutes length.

d) Latin American Documentary Feature Film Competition
For Latin American Films documentaries over 40 minutes length.

e) International Documentary Feature Film Competition “new filmmakers”
For national and international films over 40 minutes. Only for filmmakers who present their first or second non-fiction movie.

f) International Competition New Narratives (experimental cinema)
For experimental films of any nationality and duration.

g) Argentine Documentary Feature Film Competition :
Only for Argentinian Documentary Feature Films.

h) Thematic Panorama Competition (Music, Sports, Architecture, Cinema)
For national and international documentaries that address any of the following themes: Music, Sports, Architecture, Cinema. (over 40 minutes)

i) International Fiction Feature Film Competition “Fictions of the real”
For fiction feature films that have a narrative or thematic search that matches them with the documentary. National and international films (over 40 minutes).

j) International Feature Film Competition “LATERAL” (Documentaries LGTBQI)
For national and international documentaries that address the LGTBQI theme. (over 40 minutes)

k) International Competition Docs VR
For Virtual Reality documentaries and immersive content. (For works of any duration)

l) International Documentary Competition on Human Rights
For documentaries on human rights (environment, migration, politics, etc). movies from all over the world will be accepted. (over 40 minutes)

m) International Documentary Competition related to childhood and adolescence
For nonfiction films related to childhood and youth. Movies from any country and footage are accepted.

***The Argentine documentaries will be registered in the category ARGENTINIAN FILMS, regardless of their theme or footage.

***The Selection Committee reserves the right to schedule a film in a contest different from the one in which it was registered.

3- Awards

All years, FIDBA will propose different awards, depending on the competition, the prize always will be for the first place. And the jury can add two mentions. Indeed other prices are available, like SIGNIS WORLD, ARGENTINIAN ASSOCIATION OF DOCUMENTARIES, ARGENTINIAN ASSOCIATION OF DOP, ARGENTINIAN ASSOCIATION OF SOUND ENGINEERS, ARGENTINIAN ASSOCIATION OF EDITORS.
All the prizes are expressed in Argentinian currency. The Jury may propose up to two special mentions per category.

3.2- Mention of Participation
The producers and distributors of films participating in the Competitions shall include the phrase “Selección Oficial Internacional”/“International Official Selection”, in all their film advertising and press material, using the logo of the Festival. This commitment applies to both theatre releases and DVD and Blu-ray releases.

4- Submission Information and Materials Required for the Selection Process

4.1- Required Materials

Completed Entry Form at the platform, a link to the film for online viewing ( such as Vimeo, youtube, etc).
Films must have Spanish or English Subtitles if it is not Spanish spoken.
Please fill every single gap in the Entry Form.
Don`t forget to indicate if the work is a final cut, a rough cut, or a work in progress.

If the film es selected to integrate the film fest, the responsible for the film MUST PROVIDE SPANISH SUBTITLES in SRT format and ENGLISH SRT, dialogue list in the date that the festival indicates.

4.2- Submission deadlines and Entry Fees; International feature films and experimental films of any length. The fees for submission of films are established at different times on the platform. The selection committee is under no obligation to view films submitted after the deadline.

Argentine Films submission is Free.

5- Selected Films

5.1- Catalogue
With the purpose of issuing an accurate catalog, the Festival requires, for each selected film, a duly completed entry form, and the following materials: film synopsis, director’s biography, and filmography, one film still, and the full artistic and technical credits. The required materials shall be submitted as soon as possible upon acceptance of the invitation to participate in the Festival and before the deadline, which will be duly notified. Editorial decisions are entirely at the discretion of the Festival.

5.2- Excerpts for Promotional Purposes
The Festival may use excerpts from national or foreign films – with a maximum length of 3 minutes – for promotional purposes (excerpts from short films used promotionally will not exceed 10% of their total running time).
Should a producer fail to submit the required film excerpts, the Festival may copy one or more fragments from the movie for promotional use during the Festival.
For the promotion of the Festival lineup and each of the selected films, the Festival may upload digital photos of films and film clips (of a maximum of 3 minutes) onto the Festival’s website.

5.3- Video Library

The selected films will be available on the Festival’s online Video Library for a predetermined period of time. The video library is only accessible to Festival accredited press members and guests. By entering the Festival, rights holders give permission for their films to be included in the video library, unless stated otherwise on their entry form.
For these purposes, the producers of films in the Festival lineup shall provide extra copies in the format that will be duly specified.

5.4- Screening Schedule
The film programming and the screening days and times are decided by the Festival Organizers.

5.5- Screening Format
Festival screening formats are:
DCP only digital transfer
MOV, MP4 (Codec H.264) File.
Maximum Bitrate : 12 mbps

The submission of works in other video formats requires the authorization of the Festival.
Once the screening format has been informed to the Festival Organizers, it may not be changed.

5.6- Language and Subtitles in case of selection
Selected films will be screened in their original version.

Foreign Films:
If the film is selected to integrate the film fest, the responsible for the film MUST PROVIDE SPANISH SUBTITLES in SRT format and ENGLISH SRT, both in the date that the festival indicates.
Screening copies should have no subtitled printed on.

Argentine Films:
An English-subtitled screening copy is preferred if available. If no English-subtitled copy should be available, the Festival may request a list of the script lines in English (with time codes).

7- About These Rules
Participation in the Festival entails the acceptance of the present Rules. In the event of any conflict (concerning the organization or operation) not covered in these regulations, it will be resolved by the Festival Organizers.
